On the hottest weekend of 2015 thus far, the Fiona Rose Murphy Foundation, Legacy Radio and the Southern Obstacle Challenge Association held a weekend full of events at Circle E Ranch in Belvidere, TN. On June 4-7 over 300 equestrian riders representing more than 15 states came together, competed in the obstacle challenge, and rode the beautiful trails. TWHBEA proudly sponsored the Trail Ride honoring Fiona Rose Murphy, who was present at the event this year. TWHBEA member Ernie Brewbaker and Ranger T Walker along with the help of member Linda Starnes gave Fiona a ride around the campground and she was very excited to be in the saddle atop a Tennessee Walking Horse. The fundraiser, which goes to support Fiona and others with ‘brittle bone disease,’ had an increase of over 50% in fundraising and during the silent auction held Thursday night, a signed Michael Martin Murphy guitar sold for $5000!

The extreme cowboy race started Tennessee Walking Horse Friday morning and ended Saturday afternoon with over 10 Tennesse Walking Horse entries that did very well in the competition. Those that competed were Terri Glonek riding One Tuff Cowgirl, Diana Hoppe riding A Jacked Up Rockstar, Michael Garmen riding Stonewall’s Silver Dollar, Betsey Faber riding General Appeal, Tracy Pinson riding Tuff Night At The Ritz, Lisa Steinbach riding Texan At The Ritz, Joe Holloway riding Bailey’s Irish Crème’, Shelby Ratliff riding Fine Art’s Mona Lisa and Dennis Robinson rode Threat’s Dark Reflection. Kristen Corbin, TWHBEA Marketing and Programs Coordinator, was there at the event operating the TWHBEA booth and promoting the beautiful Tennessee Walking Horse.
