The Evan Lloyd Adamson Humanitarian Award, named in honor of the former Celebration ringmaster, is given by The Celebration each year recognizing an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service and commitment to The Celebration. This year’s recipient is Mark Thomas. Mark is a Shelbyville native that chose to raise his family in his hometown. He is a very active participant in the local government and Fair Haven Baptist Church. His servant’s heart is noticed by his family, friends and the entire community as he has been employed by the Bedford County Fire Department for 36 years serving as chief for 29 years.

In 1989 Mark began working for The Celebration Security. Through the years, he could be found working almost every aspect of security for The Celebration. His kind smile has been seen at events in the Calsonic Arena, inspection area, barn area, and more. In 2012, Mark accepted the position of security manager, and this year he will celebrate his 28th anniversary as a Celebration employee.

Mark and his wife Donna have been married for 36 years. They have two children, Ashley Brinkley and Tyler Thomas and three grandsons. The Scoop congratulates Thomas on receiving this distinguished award.
