Sidney George Baucom was born October 21, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the first of three children born to parents Sidney and Nora Palfreyman Baucom. He attended West High School followed by undergraduate studies and Law School at the University of Utah. After graduating, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Mary Backman in March of 1954. Together they raised three sons.

Sid and Mary’s life was a journey of pursuing many common interests. Sid had a very successful law career, but together he and his wife particularly enjoyed raising, training and riding their Tennessee Walking Horses. The Walking Horses became a connection to numerous friends both home and in their adopted home of Tennessee.

Sid will be deeply missed by his sons Sidney F. Baucom (Teri Lyn), George E. Baucom and John E. Baucom (Bonnie) along with his 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary, sisters Mary Webster and Ann Baucom, and granddaughter, Morgan Baucom. The Scoop sends our warmest condolences to the Baucom Family.
