Obituary – Sammie Norris

Walking horse enthusiast and supporter, Sammie Ray Norris, passed away on February 18, 2017 at the Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg. A resident of Chapel Hill, TN, Mr. Norris proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. During his spare time, he raised Tennessee Walking horses and enjoyed spending time with his dog, Frankie.
Mr. Norris was born on May 27, 1948 in Fleming County, Kentucky. His parents, Everett and Ethel Ritchie Norris precede him death, as well as three sisters, Sharon Barricks, Vicki Kincaid and Judy Creech.
He is survived by Pam Conklin, four brothers, Jerry Norris of Inez, KY, Danny Norris of Chapel Hill, TN, Marion Norris of Stanford, KY, and Jimmy Norris of Gilroy, CA; two sisters, Bessie Pelkey of Augusta, GA, and Betty Miller of Lexington, KY.
Services were conducted on February 25, 2017 at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead, TN. Burial followed in the White Cemetery with full military honors. The Scoop family sends our prayers and sympathy to the Norris Family.
