Obituary- Rom Folger

Mr. Romulus Roscoe (Rom) Folger Sr. passed from this life on January 18, 2019 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina. He was 93 years old. Mr. Folger was the eighth of thirteen children. He was born on May 30, 1925.

He was a graduate of the Dobson High School and served our country in the 1st Division United States Marine Corps during WWII. He was retired from NCDOT where he served as chief land surveyor. He was a member of Dobson United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Mabel Llewelyn Folger, Mr Folger was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Vernon Folger; sisters Kathryn, Betsy, Eunice and Mabel; brothers Franklin, Jim, Bob, Worth, Billy Sam and Phil. He is survived by his daughter Nan (Paul) Jackson; sons Ros (Cathy) Folger and Llew (Lois) Folger; granddaughter Kathryn (Scott) Hall; grandsons Rush (Amber) Folger and Frank Jackson; great-granddaughter Farrah Folger.

In his free time, Mr. Folger loved discussing sports and politics, trading old cars and watching his Tennessee Walking Horses.

A private graveside service was held at the Dobson Town Cemetery. The Scoop sends our warmest condolences to the Folger Family.
