Obituary- Joe Lee Cunningham

Joe Lee Cunningham Sr., 80, of Rockwood, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Cunningham was a member of St. Clair Baptist Church, Spring City. He was retired from Y-12 Federal Government Plant, Oak Ridge, with 26 years of service. He was an associate member of the Horse Protection Act Association. He was a member of the N.H.S.C. Association. Above all, Mr. Cunningham was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all. Joe was the 15th child and is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. His parents, Boog and Bertha Cunningham also precede him in death.

He is survived by wife of 60 years, Winnie Sue Cunningham, Rockwood; daughter, Carol Rogers (Jim), Rockwood; son, Joe Lee Cunningham Jr. (Karen), Rockwood; brother, George Cunningham; sister, Betty Cunningham Cole; four grandchildren, Clay Rogers, Joe Cunningham, Chelsea Johnson (Dustin), and Kacie Parsons (Tyler); three great-grandchildren, Tristan, JoeJoe and Dawson Cunningham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements for Mr. Cunningham were as follows: Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 7, family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral followed at 7 p.m. with Bro. Roger Britton officiating. Graveside and interment were held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in Glen Alice Cemetery, Rockwood.
