Tennessee Walking horse advocate Jerry Jones passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 after an courageous battle against cancer. Mr. Jones, 67, was born on July 23, 1949 to Grady & Haley Jones. The Dillon, South Carolina resident was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He loved his country so much that he fought for her in the Vietnam War and then gave back to her as a farmer for over 40 years. He was passionate about the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry and loved watching his horses compete. But his great love was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sylvia; daughter, Julie Hatcher (George); son, Grady Thomas Jones (Nicole); grandchildren, Ashlyn Amanda Hatcher, Avery Winston Hatcher, Madalyn Brea Jones and Thomas Logan Jones; mother, Haley Hering Jones; sister, Patricia Anderson & Rebecca Brady. His father, Grady Horace Jones preceded him in death along with brothers, Jimmy Horace Jones and Grady Edward Jones. The Scoop sends our condolences to the Jones Family.
