Obituary – Charles “Scott” Lambert

Aug 20th, 2014 | By | Category: News, Obituaries

unnamedCharles “Scott” Lambert of Hickory, NC and Shelbyville, TN entered eternal life on Monday, August 18, 2014. His spirit is carried on by his wife of 35 years Michelle Mosteller Lambert, two special daughters Kirsten and Shannon, two brothers, several nieces and nephews including Mark “Scrappy” Lambert, and an extended family of relatives and friends from every walk of life. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Sr. and Carolyn and uncle Dr. Joe Mac Lambert.
A retired trainer, Scott was an avid lover of horses, especially Tennessee Walking Horses. He spent most of his Saturdays in the fall cheering on his beloved Tennessee Vols, although this had become a source of some frustration in the past few years.
During his 63 years of life we were blessed to learn many lessons from Scott including the importance of selflessness, how to be a mentor, and exactly how every square inch of a horse barn should be cleaned properly. Those who’ve taken his lessons to heart can honor his legacy by continuing to perform random acts of kindness, continuing to bring humor into everyday life where there should never be a dull moment, and by making sure every corner in your barn is swept and scrubbed.
There will be two Celebration of Life services held. The first will be at 6:30 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Bass-Smith Funeral Home’s Chapel in Hickory, NC. The second will be Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Edgemont Baptist Church in Shelbyville, TN. The family will receive friends following the memorial services and requests that everyone wear Scott’s favorite color orange or another bright color. Memorials in Scott’s name may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, Connecticut 06851.
