Obituary Buford “Buck” Martin

Walking Horse enthusiast Buford “Buck” Martin of Owenton passed away on April 29, 2017 at the age of 91. The Owen County native was born May 25, 1925 to parents Rufus and Florence Bond Martin. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Roscoe Martin and Evelyn Faulkner.

Mr. Martin served in the United States Army and was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church. He had an endearing love for the Tennessee Walking Horse. He showed for over 4 decades, being particularly involved in the Ohio and Kentucky Associations. He was a member of the Kentucky Walking Horse Hall of Fame.

Cherishing his memories are survivors Lillian “Curtie” Martin to whom he was married for 65 years, and his son Buford Kemper “Kemp” Martin. The Scoop offers the Martin Family our deepest sympathy.
