Mr. James Robert “Bob” Nelms, age 67, of College Grove, Tennessee, passed from this life on Monday, September 18, 2017 at his home in College Grove. A Marshall County native, Mr. Nelms was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and was an equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a great supporter of the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry and an avid horseman.
Mr. Nelms was preceded in death by his father, James Thurman Nelms. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Becky Nelms, College Grove, Tennessee; sons, Robert (Amanda) Nelms, College Grove, TN, Jesse (Megan) Nelms, Chapel Hill, TN; mother, Martha Nelms, College Grove, TN; sister, Cindy (Mike) Dill, Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Kayrin, Riley, Peyton, Savannah, and Allie; great grandchildren, Adley Rae, and Walker; niece, Dawn Dill (Jimmy), Kentucky.
Bob, as he was affectionately known, was laid to rest on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the Triune Cemetery following a service held in the chapel of the Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. The Scoop sends our condolences to the Nelms Family.
