Star Of The
Future, owned by Wildwood Farms,
The McLaughlin Family of
Florence, S.C. passed away on
Feb. 17. “Star,” as he was
affectionately known, at 20, was
an icon in the Walking Horse
Industry and extremely loved by
those who knew him.
Star Of The
Future was born May 3, 1988.
Although advanced in years, Star
was a fighter until the end.
Throughout his 16 years of
showing, Star began and ended
his career with blue ribbons,
accumulating many wins in
between.
In 1993,
Star was the World Champion in
the Aged Walking Stallions and
Reserve in the 15.2 and Under
Stake. In 1995, Chad Baucom
directed Star to a Reserve World
Grand Championship. In his later
career, Star was shown primarily
in the Amateur 15.2 and Under
divisions as well as Pony.
Sired by
Pride’s Jubilee Star, and out of
Senator and Grit’s Lady, Star
had amazing bloodlines and was a
proven producer. His legacy will
continue through his offspring.
The Scoop’s
sincerest condolences go out to
the McLaughlin family.
