EQUINE OBITUARY

CASH ME IN

Cash Me In, the beloved 18-year-old stallion owned by Larry Wheelon of Maryville, Tenn. and Bobby Silver of Spruce Pine, N.C., was humanely laid to rest after suffering from colic on the morning of March 31.

Silver and Wheelon purchased this black stallion from Dale Rush at six years of age.  Larry Wheelon’s son, Tim Wheelon, trained Cash Me In and could often be seen showing the stallion in competition.  Cash Me In went on to pick up numerous titles including the following:  third in the 15.2 and Under class at the National Celebration in 2000; the 15.2 and Under champion at Belfast in 2000; the Money Tree Classic champion in 1999; the East Tennessee High Point champion in 1998-1999; the North Carolina Championships champion from 1998-2000 (where he retired the challenge trophy); the Land O’ Sky champion in 1998; the Belfast champion in 1998; and the Chestnut Hill champion in 1998.

The last few years of his life, Cash Me In, stood at stud at the Wheelons' farm in Maryville.  This stallion will certainly be missed by all whom saw his fine performances.
