Page
Maker was humanely laid to rest March 7 at Shamrock
Farms in Shelbyville, Tenn. due to complications
from colic.
“Page”
was sired by WGC Prides Dark Spirit and out of A
Fashion Page. His dam can be traced back to some of
the greatest mares of the Tennessee Walking Horse
breed including Mystery’s Niece, Mysterious and
Midnight Mystery.
He
was foaled on April 4, 1988 at the farm of Ms. June
Hawkins. This would be the beginning of a long
relationship between Page and Ms. Hawkins. For the
next ten years, Page would take her and his trainer,
Wayne Dean, to countless blue ribbons all throughout
Middle Tennessee. Page took home top honors at the
Columbia Spring Jubilee, Walking for the Children,
Crossroads of Dixie, Mt. Pleasant, Winchester,
Summertown, Minor Hill, Spring Hill, and the list goes
on and on.
However,
the show ring would not be the only place Page would
find success. He had a very short but extremely
successful breeding career. Although he only sired 55
colts, more than 20 of them made the show ring. Page
sired top show horses like Springs Starmaker, Paged at
Noon, Pagemakers Copyrite, First Page of Kenworthy and
many more.
Page will be dearly missed
by all that knew him.
