Multi WGC Final Keeper was humanely euthanized on
Nov. 8, as a result of progressive arthritis. Owned
by the LeGate family, Final Keeper was a great
ambassador of the Tennessee Walking Horse breed and
served his owners and riders well in multiple
divisions. Final Keeper was 18.
Throughout his early show career, under
the direction of Chad Way Stables, Final Keeper was
awarded four World Championships and three World
Grand Championships with owner, Ed Breedlove. Final
Keeper was later purchased by baseball legend, Cecil
Fielder, and then was sold to his most recent
owners, the LeGate family of Shelbyville, Tenn.
The LeGate family campaigned Final Keeper
in the Youth Ponies division with Morgan Legate and
was awarded numerous titles, including four World
Championships and one World Grand Championships.
Altogether, he won a total of eight World
Championships and four World Grand Championships.
The Scoop expresses its
condolences to the family and friends of this
impressive show horse.
