Mary Anne Studdard Hensley Obituary

Mary Anne Studdard Hensley, 78, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.
A native of Sweetwater, and a lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Annie Gladys Latham Studdard. She was District Deputy for U.S. Congressman Bill Brock. She also was the manager for Employment Security for the State of Tennessee and co-owner of Coleman Glass Company. She also owned and exhibited Tennessee Walking Horses.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Darrell Hensley (Aug. 30, 2012); daughter, Kelly Underdown; and sister, Jenny Fitch. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Carrie Hensley of Athens, and Kevin and Teresa Hensley of Athens; one sister, Peggy Dupes of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Nathan Hensley, Hunter Hensley, Noah Hensley, Brian Underdown, Brent and Mack Underdown, Cody Hensley, Angela Alvarez and Brandi Hensley; and great-grandchildren, Jasmyne Hensley, Hayden Long, Brady Robinson, Sophia Alvarez, Jonah Hensley and Piper Hensley.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 26, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Red Cross.
