Funeral services for Brenda Ann Adcock Upton, age 71 of Shelbyville, will be held 11:45am Friday January 22, 2016 in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery (McMinnville, TN). Mrs. Upton passed from this life Wednesday January 20, 2016 at Heritage Medical Center after an extended illness.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until service time at the funeral home.
Brenda Ann Adcock Upton, born April 2, 1944 was the daughter of Armilda J. Martin and the late Leon Adcock and is preceded in death by her husband Buddy Kirby (1984). She was a homemaker, former member of the CASA Board, The Walking Horse Trainers Auxillary and a faithful member of the Midland Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by children, Cliff Carlock of Shelbyville, Brad Kirby of Shelbyville, Lee (Becca) Upton of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Josh Carlock, Kirby Carlock, Lane Upton, CharliAnn Kirby, Robin Pennington; great grandchild, Anna Claire Pennington; and sister, Nancy Adcock (Tommy) Stewart of AL.
Known for her bright personality and caring spirit she will be greatly missed by all. She was an avid horse show enthusiast for over 50 years. She was also known for her great culinary skills and entertaining expertise. She loved her family and most of all her Lord.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Midland Heights Baptist Church building fund.
