Oct 30th, 2017 | By | Category: News, Obituaries

World Grand Champion Silverado Spirit was laid to rest October 16, 2017 at the age of 20. Sired by Pride’s Dark Spirit and out of a Generator mare, she was foaled April 6, 1997. Kentucky’s Harper Grider most recently showed the beautiful mare. In 2015, Silverado Spirit and Harper won the Youth 11 & Under Mare class at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and in 2016, the duo won a Reserve World Championship in that same class.

The show mare won many blue ribbons and titles under a few notable banners including Knox Blackburn, Kemp Martin and most recently Brent Grider. The Grider family purchased Silverado Spirit in 2015 and the forever friendship of Silverado and Harper began. She was buried on the Grider Farm in Columbia, Kentucky. The Scoop sends our condolences to all who loved Silverado Spirit.
