The Walking Horse Trainers’ Auxiliary annually presents a merit award to someone who has been an active source in helping the Walking Horse industry. Congressman Scott DesJarlais is the recipient of this year’s award.

In 2010, DesJarlais was elected to represent Tennessee’s fourth district. He immediately heard the voice of concern and took interest in the Walking Horse industry and the government over-reach that was occurring. His tireless efforts have subsequently helped bridge the necessary gap between the government and our beloved Tennessee Walking Horse breed and industry.

The Walking Horse Trainers’ Auxiliary Merit Award is a token of appreciation to Congressman DesJarlais for his service to the United States, the state of Tennessee and the Walking horse industry.
