A grave side service will be held for Anita Louise Crowder, age 71 of Shelbyville, 12:00 noon Monday June 29, 2015 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Bro. Scotty Sorrells officiating. Mrs. Crowder passed from this life Friday June 26, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held 4-7pm Sunday June 28, 2015 at Doak-Howell Funeral Home. Anita Louise Crowder, born June 19, 1944 to the late Jesse Ralph Johnston and the late Ina Mae Nelson Johnston and is preceded in death by: son; Tommy Crowder, brothers; Darrell Johnston, Stanley Johnston, Clyde Johnston, Don Johnston and John “Butch” Johnston. Mrs. Crowder was a member of Whiteside United Methodist Church, was one of the 1st officers and founder of the Walking Horse Trainers Aux, and started the 1st Tony Rice Horse Show. Survivors include: husband of 53 years Dude Crowder, daughter; Samantha Kovalick of Shelbyville, grandson; Jacob Kovalick of Christiana, sister; Robin Y. Williams of Knoxville, mother-in-law; Clara Crowder, sister-in-law; Pat Diggs of Clinton, TN, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Bedford County Cancer Foundation @ PO Box 1523, Shelbyville, TN 37162-1523.
