Charles Burton Bugg

 

Charles Burton Bugg, age 81, of Murfreesboro, TN, died October 31, 2009.  A native of Rutherford County, he was raised in the Lascassas community.  He was the son of the late Irvin and Mettie Milligan Bugg. 

Mr. Bugg was a member of Third Baptist Church and was a 1946 graduate of Lascassas High School.  He was employed with Haynes Hardware and the Rutherford County Hospital for many years and was retired circulation manager for the Gannett Newspaper Banner-Tennessean Newspaper Corporation.  He was an avid Walking Horse enthusiast and raised and trained Walking Horses all his life.

Mr. Bugg is survived by his wife, Erlene Brashear Bugg; five sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Gail Bugg of Lascassas, David and Brenda Bugg of Alpharetta, GA, Bobby and Kathy Bugg of Lascassas, Steve Bugg of Murfreesboro, and Bruce and Myra Bugg of Lascassas; two daughters and son-in-law, Charlene and Larry Farley of Lascassas and Janice Bugg of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Robert Buddy (Nancy) Bugg, of Murfreesboro, Ernest (Carol) Bugg, of Upperville, VA, and Fred (Phyllis) Bugg of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Betty (P.O.) Florida of Lascassas, Daisy (Berlie) Jones of Murfreesboro, and Edith (Kelly) Graves of Macon, GA; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Hutson and Rev. Mike Lee officiating.  Family and friends served as Pallbearers.  Internment followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
