Carl Nicks Williams

Mr. C. Nicks Williams, 57, of Charlotte, NC, beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

He was born on February 9, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee, son of Anne Nicks Rochelle Williams of Gallatin and the late Dr. John O. Williams, Jr.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Davis Williams and his three adored sons, Walker, Ross and Davis of Charlotte; four brothers, John O. Williams, III and his wife KayKay of Columbia, Lee Williams and his wife, Pam of Franklin, David Williams and his wife, Theresa of Shelbyville; and Tommy Williams and his wife, Kim of Mt. Pleasant; in-laws, Claude and Bobbie Davis; brothers-in law, Claude Davis Jr. and his wife Kathie, and John Davis; sisters-in-law, Catherine and Keith Williams and Rebecca and George Pressly. He was also the best uncle to twenty-one nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.  He always had candy!

 

Mr. Williams was a graduate of Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, Tennessee, Vanderbilt University, Harvard University and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.  He was also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Vanderbilt University and very active in the alumni relations of his chapter.  He recently helped organize the 150th celebration of the Vanderbilt chapter of the fraternity.

 

Mr. Williams was currently serving as an Assistant US Attorney in the Western District of North Carolina.  This was a job he loved dearly and he leaves behind many cherished friendships.

 

A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Myers Park United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bill Roth officiating.  The family received friends in Jubilee Hall following the service.
