Mrs.
Marilyn Goff Thompson
Mrs. Marilyn Goff Thompson,
age 87, of Nashville, formerly of Shelbyville,
died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Alive
Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday,
August 28, 2010, at Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens. Visitation will be 2-6 PM Friday at
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
She was born
August 22, 1923, in Kennedy, Texas, to the
late Percy and Hattie Martin Goff.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Vic
Thompson, in 1996, and a brother, Martin Goff.
She is survived by two daughters,
Vicki Lynn Gordon, of Key West, Florida, and
Kathy Thompson, of Nashville; two brothers,
Robert “Bobby E. “ Goff and Glen Goff, both of
Texas; a sister, Joyce Lyons, of Texas; two
grandchildren, Huntly Gordon, of Franklin and
Jennifer Nolden, of Chicago; four great
grandchildren, Lillian Gordon, Isabella
Gordon, Ava Claire Gordon, and Seth Nolden.
Marilyn, better known as "Nancy Lopez"
"Red" "Granny Marilyn" and "Mimi", will be
remembered for her sweet smile, her gift of
gravity and her complete love of life. She
loved each woman as a daughter, each man as a
son and each child as her own. She was a
gracious chaperone, hostess and horse mother
to many. She has forever made a big burgundy
lipstick mark in this world!
