HARRODSBURG KENTUCKY FAIRGROUNDS DESTROYED

April 29, 2008

Harrodsburg, Kentucky Fairgrounds burned to the ground early this morning.  The KWRHTA Derby Classic show officials have decided to cancel the show scheduled for this weekend in hopes of finding another location to have it at.  The fire started in the night Monday night and was discovered around 2 a.m. according the Advocate Messenger newspaper.  State Fire Marshall and Kentucky State police investigators are trying to find the cause of the blaze.  As if the tornado last month didn’t already put a damper on events at the facility with destroying one of the covered grandstands, now the entire grandstands are gone.

The Scoop will keep you posted as further information becomes available.
