COOKEVILLE,
Tenn.-The Upper Cumberland
Walking Horse Association met in
January to elect the Executive
Board for 2008.
Elected were
Martha Willis, President; Pat
Stout, Vice President; Lesa
Davidson, Secretary; Tom
Williford, Treasurer; Jerry
Swallows, Past President; Roy
Fox, Director; Vestel Jaquess,
Director; Mary Ralph Maddux,
Director; Heidi McWilliams,
Director; Faye Monk, Director;
Robbie Phillips, Director; Don
Robinson, Director and Jimmy
Sherrell, Director.
UCWHA was
organized in 1971 to promote the
Tennessee Walking Horse through
many facets, including horse
shows, scholarships, youth
activities, regional futurity
and high point award programs.
To fund these programs, UCWHA
sponsors a silent auction during
the Upper Cumberland Walking
Horse Show. This year’s event
will held Apr. 5, at Hyder-Burks
Agricultural Pavilion.
Members are
encouraged to donate items or
help the committee gather
items. Anyone who is willing to
help may contact one of the
board members. For those
interested in donating a stud
fee, contact Jerry Swallows at
(931) 858-5500. Memberships must
be paid by Apr. 5, to be
eligible for high point awards.
