- The Tennessee Walking Horse
Foundation, Inc. has been
restructured to promote,
encourage and develop awareness
of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
David Pruett, President of the
Tennessee Walking Horse
Breeders’ and Exhibitors’
Association (TWHBEA), stated,
“The Foundation is a vital tool
the industry can utilize to
foster education to the general
public and unity among our
industry organizations.”
The Foundation is
a 501(c)(3) corporation and will
solicit voluntary contributions
of funds, public grants,
personal or real assets, in kind
or in cash, to be used in
carrying out its objectives.
All donations are tax deductible
and you may designate where your
donation will be used, but all
requests must meet Foundation
criteria. Donations may be made
to TWHF, P. O. Box 1157,
Lewisburg, TN 37091 or given to
any Foundation Board member.
During a meeting
on February 6, 2008, Kathy Zeis
was elected President and Dee
Dee Sale was elected
Secretary/Treasurer. Bob Cherry
and Joni Jenne′ were elected to
fill vacancies on the Board.
Other Board members are Janice
Fostek, Jack Heffington, Debra
Jack, Christy Lantis, and David
Pruett.
Board members
voted unanimously to donate
$2,500 to the TWHBEA/WHOA Youth
Challenge Program. This program
ensures the availability of
Youth Performance Canter Classes
at shows across the country and
is available to any show
regardless of HIO affiliation.
The Foundation is
independent of the Tennessee
Walking Horse Breeders’ and
Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA)
and will function to meet the
needs of organizations
throughout the industry by gifts
of grants to individuals,
corporations, or associations
which will promote goodwill,
education and broad public
awareness of the Tennessee
Walking Horse.
