Reorganization of the Tennessee Walking Horse Foundation

Lewisburg, TN - The Tennessee Walking Horse Foundation, Inc. has been restructured to promote, encourage and develop awareness of the Tennessee Walking Horse.  David Pruett, President of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA), stated, “The Foundation is a vital tool the industry can utilize to foster education to the general public and unity among our industry organizations.”

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation and will solicit voluntary contributions of funds, public grants, personal or real assets, in kind or in cash, to be used in carrying out its objectives.  All donations are tax deductible and you may designate where your donation will be used, but all requests must meet Foundation criteria.  Donations may be made to TWHF, P. O. Box 1157, Lewisburg, TN 37091 or given to any Foundation Board member.

During a meeting on February 6, 2008, Kathy Zeis was elected President and Dee Dee Sale was elected Secretary/Treasurer.  Bob Cherry and Joni Jenne′ were elected to fill vacancies on the Board.  Other Board members are Janice Fostek, Jack Heffington, Debra Jack, Christy Lantis, and David Pruett.

Board members voted unanimously to donate $2,500 to the TWHBEA/WHOA Youth Challenge Program.  This program ensures the availability of Youth Performance Canter Classes at shows across the country and is available to any show regardless of HIO affiliation.

The Foundation is independent of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) and will function to meet the needs of organizations throughout the industry by gifts of grants to individuals, corporations, or associations which will promote goodwill, education and broad public awareness of the Tennessee Walking Horse.

If you have questions about the Foundation, please contact Kathy Zeis, President, Tennessee Walking Horse Foundation, redladytwh@mindspring.com, 770-834-5804.
